Persuasive Speech Topics That Motivate Your Audience

Persuasive speech topics

Persuasive speech topics should be chosen based on multiple criteria. Those criteria are: who are you trying to persuade? And what action are you persuading them to take?

One way to commence is to work out what you want to achieve from your persuasive speech. Is it about getting someone to buy something from you? Are your objectives more amorous in nature? Is your objective to create an alliance or business deal of some sort? Maybe you just want to get a foot in the door and get that interview and getting hired? Or even, getting that raise in pay perhaps…?

Remember, almost all conversations between people involves selling yourself. You are persuading others that YOU are the person of choice.

Persuasive speech topics are all about persuading someone else to take an action  that you want them to. Unfortunately not everybody else will have the same goals as you do. No matter what your objectives are, you should make a list of all the benefits that folllowing your lead will deliver. Just as crucial, is to make a note of every possible reason they could come up with for saying no. One name for these is roadblocks, and having your answers ready for when the objections are raised puts you in a powerful position.

Better yet, raising those objections and your answers to them as part of your persuasion tactics will get your prospects on your side. Even more powerful still is to tell them that you too were once plagued by those exact same doubts. Until of course, you found the solution to those challenges. This is, of course the same solution you are about to tell your prospects all about.

Enthusiasm is another tool that you are well advised to use. I’m sure you can recall many times when you sat there…bored out of your mind while someone up there on the stage droned on monotonously while you studied your watch…waiting for it to be over…!

Persuasion is part art and part science.

Research shows that you will be more persuasive if you are seen as an expert in your field!
You can do this over a weekend by getting to a library and reading as much as possible on your subject. the majority of the people in the USA haven’t read a book since they left school. Because of this it’s pretty straighforward to become the expert. Isn’t that all an expert is ? Someone who knows more.

Once you are seen as that person the world should be your oyster THE expert. People that you talk to will be more receptive to the information you give them and will be able to recall more of it . If you want to know more about this I recommend the book “Influence ” by Irving Gottman.
He describes all of the things that will make you stand out in front of the room. Read it, use it and be amazed at how much more responsive your audiences will be.

Mastering persuasive speaking is one of the most powerful assets any human being can master. It takes repetition and, while a lucky few are born with the Blarney Stone firmly clenched in their jaw, most of us undertake formal training through the many public speaking courses that are available. Andrew Rondeau has teamed up with Darren Lacroix to create an excellent course that takes you through creating a world-beating presentation including choosing the most persuasive speech topics and HOW to deliver them like a pro.
